Genesis 45:12-15 · AMPC

Now notice! Your own eyes and the eyes of my brother Benjamin can see that I am talking to you personally [in your language and not through an interpreter]. 13 And you shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt and of all that you have seen; and you shall hurry and bring my father down here. And he fell on his brother Benjamin’s neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck. 15 Moreover, he kissed all his brothers and wept upon them; and after that his brothers conversed with him.

Contemplation

Beloved, there are different kinds of problems waiting to make the life of the people of God difficult, but this is the reason why the Lord in His mercies encouraged us to keep a close walk with Him. There are times that the Lord need you to be very sensitive to hear the warning about the wicked agenda of the enemy and if you miss it, things might not be the same again. When you have the opportunity to keep a close walk with the Lord, don’t let the powers of darkness distract you. There is a great need for you to be sensitive at all times, because the enemy is waiting for that moment when we would be off guard and we pray that moment will never succeed against us in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

There is the need for us to take note of the things happening around us, so we can note the differences.

In verses 12 and 13, Joseph said to them,

“Now notice! Your own eyes and the eyes of my brother Benjamin can see that I am talking to you personally [in your language and not through an interpreter].

13 And you shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt and of all that you have seen; and you shall hurry and bring my father down here.”

When we are sensitive to the leading that the Lord is giving to us, we would be able to mark the uniqueness involved and take things really serious. The words that Joseph put into use, made a great difference, yet it was wrapped in the glory that was known to be the blessings of God given to one of His sons.

Beloved, the Lord has given us the opportunity to walk with Him in amazing ways and we must be careful to make use of it for good.

In verses 14 and 15, the Lord opened our eyes to see the impact of great love that was let loose in the face of real joy. Joseph could not hold himself back when he had the opportunity to see Benjamin and the rest of his brothers again. When he lost their mother at the birth of his younger brother, it was a tough experience for Joseph. Only for him to be separated from every member of the family in a painful way. It was a great opportunity for him to meet them and the young Benjamin alive after such a long time. For this reason and much more, the word of the Lord says,

“And he fell on his brother Benjamin’s neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck.

15 Moreover, he kissed all his brothers and wept upon them; and after that his brothers conversed with him.”

What a glorious reunion this was and to our God be all the glory.

Practical issues

Whenever we have the opportunity to walk into the blessings of God that we once took for granted until we no longer had the opportunity like we use to have, then we really come to understand the blessings we have taken for granted. Please, learn to make the best of every precious moments. Shalom!
