Lift up your eyes round about you and see! They all gather themselves together, they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried and nursed in the arms. Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and tremble with joy [at the glorious deliverance] and be enlarged; because the abundant wealth of the [Dead] Sea shall be turned to you, unto you shall the nations come with their treasures.
Contemplation
It is a great opportunity for everyone of us to encounter the glory of the Lord our God. The Lord our God is faithful to His promises and He will certainly glorify His name in amazing ways.
The word of the Lord in Isaiah chapter 60 from verse 4 says,
“Lift up your eyes round about you and see! They all gather themselves together, they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried and nursed in the arms.”
This passage opens with the call on everyone of the people to lift up their eyes round about. This is simply because something amazing has just began. The word of the Lord went on to say, “Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried and nursed in the arms.” Beloved, even till today this is still happening right now. We are seeing many Jewish people literally returning back to Israel with many at the airport carrying their beloved children in their arms with great joy as they return back to Israel. It actually looked difficult at first, but with the way it is opening up, you can tell that the Lord our God is mighty at work in bringing His children back home.
The word of the Lord went on to say in verse 5 of chapter 60, ,
“Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and tremble with joy [at the glorious deliverance] and be enlarged; because the abundant wealth of the [Dead] Sea shall be turned to you, unto you shall the nations come with their treasures.”
This is indeed a glorious declaration with a beautiful words. The word of the Lord make us see that when this begin to unfold, you shall see and be radiant…” When we see to the extent that we become aglow with the glory that comes with the news, it is obvious that something extraordinary is unfolding. That is why such lives becomes so thrilled with glorious joy that transformed so mightily. It is so amazing that this verse speaks of the fact that many shall be enlarged and the glorious and abundant wealth of the Dead Sea shall be turned to you. Hallelujah! And in addition to that the scripture says, “unto you shall the nations come with their treasures.” This is indeed such a beautiful and glorious treasures that only the Lord our God can count us worthy of. To our God be all the praise and the glory.
Practical issues
It is a glorious opportunity for us to have the chance to go from somewhere else and be lifted to the place where the glory of the Lord is made manifest upon us in a strange way. To Jesus be all the praise and the glory. Shalom!
