For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God), 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,
Contemplation
What a glorious and mighty God we serve! Sometimes, the manifestation of the Lord in our midst is so amazing that we in reverence bow in worship unto Him. It is a great privilege for us to come to the place where the Lord pours on us blessings beyond imagination. The Lord our God has chosen to release His awesome presence upon us in ways that will amaze us.
When the children of God encountered God in amazing ways, they expressed their love for the Lord beyond words. This is part of the reason why the Apostle Paul wrote letters like this, having been inspired by the Lord in verses 15 and 16 to say,
“For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God), 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.”
It is amazing when the people of God stir up prayers in the heart of God’s servants to make certain decrees. When this happens by the grace of God, you begin to hear things like this stirred up in verse 17, as he began to decree,
“[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,”
What a glorious and deep declaration stirred up from the realm of the Spirit, to unfold the manifestation of unusual utterance and glory that goes beyond words. The Lord our God who is the Father of glory is mightily stirred up to grant unto “…you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,”
What a mighty and amazing God we serve! Thank you Jesus for everything.
